LutherCare Communities is committed to protecting the health and safety of our residents, employees, volunteers, suppliers and service providers.  We thank you for your patience and understanding of the measures we have in place to protect those we serve.

Luther Special Care Home – Confirmed Outbreak

  • There are currently forty active resident COVID-19 cases
  • There are currently four active employee COVID-19 cases

Visitation at Luther Special Care Home is being limited to end of life reasons only effective immediately and until further notice.

Management and staff of Luther Special Care Home continue to work diligently to curb the spread of the virus in the home through extensive infection control protocols.  Additionally, Luther Special Care Home has applied for a Medical Laboratory License in order to bring a testing device on site which will allow us to test individuals for COVID and have results in approximately 15 minutes.  The number of staff who work on the outbreak unit who are self-isolating has stabilized, however, the large number of individuals away from work is causing concern.  To manage this concern, we are working with the Saskatchewan Health Authority as well as other long term care homes in the city along with Home Care who have offered assistance in a variety of ways, including lending us staff on a temporary basis and supporting us in the recruitment and training of new employees.  We also have a couple of staff who have temporarily moved from Regina to help support our efforts.
