Latest Stair Climb Challenge News

The 5th annual LutherCare Foundation Stair Climb Challenge will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Luther Tower in Saskatoon. Proceeds will go to support the Central Courtyard Improvement Plan. To set up a team, join a team or to donate, please visit the Canada Helps event page.

All team and individual registration as well as online donations will be handled on the Canada Helps event page. Canada Helps is a registered charity. When supporters make a donation, you will receive your charitable receipt from Canada Helps by email in a matter of minutes. LutherCare Foundation will receive the money in a couple of days. For donations by cash or cheque, the charitable receipt will be issued by Luthercare Foundation, 1212 Osler Street, Saskatoon, SK S7N 0T9.

2016 Results

  • More than 100 climbers and volunteers participated in the 4th annual Stair Climb Challenge on February 5, 2016.
  • Over $20,000 was raised - a record amount for the Stair Climb Challenge.
  • Team MDC StairMasters was the fastest team. They completed the climb in 1:00.00.
  • Team Pink Prancers won the Team Fundraising title.
  • Emmanuel Aristide was the fastest male climber at 1:53.40.

Rules and Other Information:

  • The LutherCare Foundation Stair Climb Challenge is a fun event intended to raise money for a worthwhile cause within LutherCare Communities while encouraging healthy lifestyles, team work and friendly competition.
  • Up to 20 relay teams will complete the climb from main floor to the 22nd floor dining room of Luther Tower between 11 a.m. and 12 noon. There will normally be four members on a team, however, teams may register up to five members if they wish to include an alternate.
  • Up to 10 individual climbers will complete the climb between 12 noon and 12:20 p.m. Climbers may register as both a team member and as an individual climber.
  • All team members and individual climbers will receive a complimentary lunch and participation prizes.
  • Awards will be given in the following categories: Fastest Team, Fastest Solo Male, Fastest Solo Female and Team Fundraising. The prize presentations will begin at 12 p.m. If you cannot be present to select prizes, you may name a representative to do so on your behalf.
  • Each team is asked to raise a minimum $500 in pledges and each individual climber is asked to raise a minimum of $200. If you are on a team and also participating in the solo category you do not have to raise extra pledges.
  • Each climber must agree to the waiver of liability when signing up on the website.
  • Each climber should wear safe and appropriate footwear.
  • Hand rails may be used for balance but not for propulsion.
  • Most important – Put safety first and stay within your personal comfort zone. The main objective is for all to have fun while raising money for a good cause!
